Hotel National - Zermatt

Located in the centre of Zermatt directly opposite the Sunegga-Paradies express and only a 5-minute walk from the train station, the Hotel National is the only hotel in Zermatt offering exclusively south-facing rooms and a balcony in every room. After the complete renovation the hotel only offers fantastic, light-flooded superior rooms and suites, each with a very modern bathroom. You can spend pleasant hours at the hotel bar with its fireplace. The hotel features a 360 m² spa oasis with pool, caldarium, aroma grotto, sauna, dream shower, Kneipp grotto and tepidarium with Mimaroso warm beds.

Zermatt is car-free. Private vehicles are only allowed as far as Täsch. In Täsch there are multi-storey car parks and public parking spaces. Some car parks offer a taxi service from and to Zermatt. The shuttle trains of the Matterhorn-Gotthard Railway run every 20 minutes between Täsch and Zermatt. At Brig and Visp, there are direct train connections to the modern narrow-gauge tracks of the Matterhorn-Gotthard Railway, which takes 90 minutes through the romantic Visper Valley to reach Zermatt.

We pamper our guests with our fantastic menu gastronomique or with à la carte dishes. All dishes are lovingly prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Our chef’s speciality is the Châteaubriand steak "National".
